Chamber orchestra at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory
At the invitation of the Rector of the Moscow Conservatory in 2007 year, the collective was headed by People’s Artist of Russian Federation, principal conductor of The Moscow State Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre, cellist Felix Korobov. Under his leadership the orchestra became one of the important players in Moscow musical life very quickly. Over the years, more than 140 programs have been played - from the early baroque to ultra-modern just-written music, moreover, not a single piece has been repeated in 14 years in these programs.
A special place in the life of the collective is occupied by the playing of works by Mozart, Vienna classics and music of the 20th century. Monographs by Bach (all instrumental concertos were performed on the same day), Britten, Schoenberg, Martinu were played by cyclus. Concert performances of operas including those considered lost and reconstructed already in our time occupy a special place.
Continuing the traditions of the founders, the orchestra collaborates with outstanding soloists and conductors, professors and young talents: only recently with Saulius Sondeckis and Hibla Gerzmava, Liana Isakadze and Pierre Amoyal, Alexander Rudin, Petr Laul, Katalin Rotaru and many others. For many years the legendary Austrian pianist, Professor Paul Badura-Skoda, who came to Russia at the invitation of the maestro, was a constant friend and partner of the collective. There are archival recordings of the orchestra's performances with David Oistrakh and Leonid Kogan, Natalia Gutman and Mstislav Rostropovich.
The orchestra leads an active guesting: successful tours in Austria, Israel, Germany, Italy, Abkhazia and a triumphal tour with Tchaikovsky's music in Estonia are already in the newest history of the collective.
The orchestra is a welcome guest on television, there is a longstanding collaboration connects the collective with the Kultura channel and the national television project The Grand Opera, at the origins of which was maestro Felix Korobov together with his orchestra.
The orchestra regularly performs in the best halls in Moscow, tours across Russia and has records in the Conservatory's funds and on CDs.
During the coronavirus pandemic of 2020 year the orchestra continues to perform its programs in the halls of the Moscow Conservatory.
